Detroit Dolly

Dolly Rocker Lookfound on Etsy!
part of the Detroit reDux ...the city that is about urban reclaim and soon to be the home of the US Social Forum 2010, is where Cara Lundgren does refashion and vintage upcycles that are on Etsy right now.
I am loving it! i remember the first time i saw Doc Marten meet a nostalgic floral; aah yes! These Grunge heyday re-ups are about looking forward and that Feminine /Masculine mix feels right ...especially now (the integrated self brings forth the connected world view).
Maybe Detroit will be the City of Sustainable Styling?
In Cara's immortal words "More shameless self promotion... a girls got to make a living! http://www.etsy.com/shop/detroitdolly"
damn straight!

I have added a link -see it on the right side of the page. This is where the updates will be as the FashionRip Installation Project builds. I am really happy to be able to showcase some of the incredible local talent that is or will be involved as momentum grows. Please drop by and leave a comment, ask a question or get involved. Thank you, deborah

re-do Home Ec fashion

This 80's chrome chair was a 3rd level rescue. After washing the rust brown velveteen I appliquéd the floral motif using a fusible adhesive with topstitching then stippled the centers. Curves work well if you dislike fraying; edge stitch the straights to keep them tame. This chair still isn't comfortable with the bar back but it looks great and works in the studio for a short perch.
